My first on-campus job was working as a student assistant in the College of Education and Human Development External Relations office.

​

As my journey through college continued, I began to take on more responsibilities in the office and eventually held a number of contract positions post graduation.

​

I credit much of my planning expertise and my high-attention to detail to my time spent in this office learning from others and executing various events.

Roles and Responsibilities

Administrative Assistant

Sep 2014 – Sep 2017

  • Provided full support to the Director of External Relations, Director of Alumni Relations, and nine person development team. Managed new hire student workers through summer employment.

  • Utilized Microsoft Office and Google Suite to manage office calendars, documents, reports and emails.

  • Generated and edited the weekly donation report to prepare and mailed personal ‘thank you’ letters to each of our donors.

  • Negotiated with promotional and marketing groups to find the best prices for CEHD branded products.

  • Full end-to-end event and correspondence management for the Woman’s Philanthropic Leadership Circle Awards.

  • Ensured the successful planning and execution of events including lunches, award ceremony receptions, mail campaigns and office meetings. 

Social Media Specialist

Aug 2017 - Mar 2018

  • Generated a regular publishing schedule to manage content and plan for specific posts around events and news.

  • Created, curated, and managed all content (images, videos and written).

  • Expand the communities by increasing visibility of pages and interactions with social media accounts.

  • Research and understand Internet trends, best practices, and online branding.

  • Outline clear engagement tactics for audiences across platforms.

  • This position led to the creation of a subcommittee on the CEHD Alumni Society Board in 2018.

Assistant to the Director of Alumni Relations

Sept 2017 - Oct 2017

  • Created a logistical plan for each event including maintaining registrations and securing vendors and volunteers.

  • Developed and integrated a strategic plan for how to maximize social media interaction and managed the departments pages.

  • Interacted with donors and alumni during receptions and events.

  • Organized the procurement of promotional merchandise for Alumni Relations events.

  • Worked closely with various university departments to analyze and maintain files for alumni participation and engagement. 

  • Handled all alumni news correspondence and updated news webpage accordingly. 

Alumni Relations Contract Position

Sept 2019 - Nov 2019

  • Hosted the 2019 Homecoming Tailgate for CEHD along with the Alumni Society Board.

  • Amended and organized the Alumni Society Board files and charters with the guidance of the Chief Development Officer in External Relations
